“What is it you want to do before the world ends in 2012?” was a question which kept me gaping as my friend flipped through the dozen pages of her wish list. I wonder whether earth would really come to an end on December 21st 2012 or is it just one of those fragmented stories which move around every now and then.
Imagine how it must be for all the final year students (me being one of them) just when they are about to finish up with their graduation studies (do take in account all the schooling we have done...those 21 years all wasted on books), there’s this bizarre news of earth ending up.
Dam it!! This is so unfair; we would be missing on all the post graduation joys, after all these years of attending those boring classes, giving those silly exams and eventually getting all screwed up with those assignments. The farewell party would be a kind of final good bye, with all of us promising to see each other in next birth or probably if your dad is rich enough like mine then may be on some other planet where we would migrate in case of the catastrophe (mind it!! Indians aren't far behind their Chinese or American counterparts, even we have a secured backup plan unlike the way it was shown in movie 2012)
Try imagining the entire scene...Mum screaming at the top of her voice and asking to pack up the bags and all the essential teeny weenie stuff because we are supposed to leave for Mars, yes planet Mars!! A little drenched in grief she seems as she has to part away with her Pashmina stuff, sarees and the ancestral jewelry, after all everything can't be packed and taken and Dad on the other end shouting to hurry up or else we would miss the very next space shuttle going to Mars and then tickets are too very expensive to be taken again and then, suddenly there is this familiar voice in the scene. Oh!! he’s our pet Tigger. He is one of the most wonderful pugs. Though I don’t really like animals but then he is too adorable to be hated. I am sure everybody would pity the little creature and dad would agree to take him with us.
I would miss my favorite hanging places here, the tasty *earthly food, the night parties, my collection of songs (I have got a good ear for music)
All this would be so terrible but, then who knows what is there in store so better live the moment and book your tickets at the earliest.
Bon voyage for the future!!
